Obviously, such stubborn dogs can still be very rewarding to train, but it’s not going to be easy. So, if you want to avoid making training more difficult than it otherwise could be, you should probably avoid these dog breeds that are known for their stubbornness.
Bulldog
Famously, Bulldogs are well known for their stubbornness, so much so that this behaviour has become a stereotype. Obviously, some Bulldogs can still be quite cooperative if motivated correctly, but in general, they have quite an independent streak. Regardless, their loyalty and affection often make them wonderful companions, but training them effectively often comes down to understanding what makes them tick.
Dachshund
Small but mighty, Dachshunds were originally bred to hunt badgers, and their determination still shines through. For this reason, they can be incredibly single-minded, especially if they catch a scent that they think is worth investigating. Naturally, this tenacity tends to translate into training challenges, though their quirky personalities and adorable antics will no doubt keep them in their owners’ good books.
Chow Chow
World famous for their delightful lion-like mane, it’s no secret that Chow Chows have an aloof attitude. On the surface, Basset Hounds may seem easy-going with their soulful eyes and droopy ears, but at any moment, their scent-tracking instincts can take over. Due to this, when they’re following a trail, commands tend to fall on deaf ears, although in most other situations, they’ll be affectionate and gentle, making their stubborn streak easier to forgive.

Sure, they’re not quick to trust strangers and often prefer to do things on their terms, but there’s something admirable about that.
